Ventura Adult Continuing Education (VACE) is available for all adults and high school students that need something a little different than high school. VACE is located in Ventura, CA. VACE’s goal is to prepare diverse learning with academic, vocational and technological competencies for the 21st century global workforce.
VACE has recently become the first in the state of California to have computer-based GED testing and registration. Students wanting to take the GED can quickly register online and have the test ready for them. GED preparation courses are also available for adults and any high school student over the age of 16.
VACE offers a wide variety of programs to the adult community. These programs include Adult Literacy & Diploma, classes for adults with disabilities, ESL & Citizenship, classes for older adults, consumer education, night classes, enrichment classes and classes with TDCstudios.
VACE also has a career technical education program. With this program there are thirty-three different programs available. All of the programs fall into the following categories:
- Business Programs
- Computer Applications & Graphics
- Account Programs
- Medical Front and Back Office
- Digital Multimedia Programs
- Computer Systems Technology
- Computer-Aided Drafting and Design
The career technical education programs offer individualized instruction with low student to teacher ratio. VACE also has state of the art computers and technology. For those enrolled in these programs there are optional externships available. VACE also offers job placement assistance with weekly employability workshops.
Each of these programs has a different fee attached to it, but for students who are under 18, there is only a $10 registration fee. Tuition varies based on class and program choice. For adult students, there is financial aid available for those who qualify.
